Not So Abstract
Roving Portland
Every handspinner's dream: a collection of vibrantly hand-dyed luxury roving. Dyed for us by Abstract Fiber of Portland, this line answers the need for local luxury spinning supplies. We've selected ten colorways in three sumptuous roving families for handspinners to choose from:
Alpaca/ Merino/ Silk. 50% alpaca, 30% Merino and 20% silk, this velvety blend makes colors glow and almost shimmer. Once you spin this roving, you'll be spoiled for all others. Each hank is 4 oz.

Cashmere/ Silk. 50% cashmere and 50% silk, the shimmering quality of this blend proclaims its extravagance. Softer than down and lighter than a cloud, spinning this roving will be an experience only transcended by knitting the finished yarn. Hanks are 2 oz.

Superwash Blue-faced Leicester. 100% Blue-faced Leicester wool, chemically treated to be machine washable and unfeltable. BFL is a common favorite among spinners for it's softness, luster, and the way it takes dye so intensely. Now machine washable, this roving is perfect for sock yarn, children's garments or gift yarn. Comes in a 4 oz hank.

New Local Sock Yarn: Abstract Fiber
Pretty Yarn Pic
We’ve picked up yet another new local sock yarn here at Twisted, and it’s quite fabulous. Abstract Fiber is the brainchild of Susan, who has an amazing eye for those bright, wonderful Portland colors. My personal favorites include St. John’s (cuz, that’s where I live), and Dundee (cuz, I love wine). Susan has a “crew” of 4 fiber fanatics to help her in her biz. We are currently carrying her SuperSock, which is a fingering-weight dream of a sock yarn.

Abstract Fiber is a great addition to the Great Wall of Sock Yarn, but don’t you take our word for it - come on by and check it out for yourself!
